Collection: VINTAGE SUZANI LONG
Suzanis can be considered true works of textile art. The choice of materials is crucial to their durability and beauty.
The combination of embroidery techniques and high-quality materials makes suzanis unique and special.
This technique originated from the nomadic tribes of Central Asia. The name comes from the Persian word "suzan," which means "needle."
They were used to decorate wedding rooms. The embroidered designs predominantly feature floral motifs, representing various plants that symbolize life and fertility.
Today, suzanis have been revived and are used for clothing and decoration.
Currently, these precious textiles can be found in India. At "Sanjana and Me," we carefully select both antique and new suzanis during our travels, transforming them into long-sleeve and short-sleeve kimonos.
At "Sanjana and Me," you can explore our collection of these unique and special pieces.
